Bookings

🚧 Coming soon — in development. This feature is being built and is not yet available in your workspace. This page previews how it will work so the team can prepare; check the app for what’s live today.

What is a booking?

A booking reserves a resource’s time for the work you have planned — your projects and tasks. Where a resource describes who is available and how many hours they have, a booking is the step that puts those hours to work: it commits part of a person’s capacity to a specific piece of work over a period of time.

Bookings sit alongside the other building blocks of Time & Resource Management:

  • Skills describe what a person can do.
  • Resources describe who is available, their schedule, and their rates.
  • Time Budgets describe how many hours (or how much money) a piece of work may consume.
  • Bookings reserve a resource’s hours against that work.

Together they let you plan with confidence: you can see who is booked, how much of their capacity is still free, and whether the work still fits within its budget.

Where to find Bookings

  1. In the left sidebar, click Time & Resource Management to expand it.
  2. Choose Bookings.

This opens the bookings area (/tr/bookings).

Bookings is a new part of Time & Resource Management and is being rolled out. When you open it today the page header reads “Manage your bookings for your projects and tasks.” and the body shows a Coming soon message — that header is exactly what bookings are for once the feature is live.

How bookings fit your planning

To book time you first need the pieces that a booking connects:

Building blockWhat it provides
ResourceThe person whose time you reserve, with their work days, hours, and rates
Time BudgetThe project or task work the booking is reserved against, with its available hours or amount
SkillsHelp you find the right resource for the work

Set these up first so that, when Bookings goes live, you can reserve the right people for the right work straight away.

Getting ready for Bookings

While the feature is being finished, you can prepare:

  1. Add your team members as Resources, with their correct work days, hours, and rates.
  2. Tag each resource with the Skills they cover, so you can quickly find who fits a job.
  3. Create the Time Budgets for the projects and tasks you want to staff.

With resources, skills, and time budgets in place, your team is ready to start booking as soon as the feature is available.

Permissions

What you can do in Time & Resource Management depends on your role and on access to the Time & Resource Management module. If you don’t see Bookings in the navigation, or a button is missing, you’re likely without the matching access — ask your administrator.
